I tend to listen to Dog Island a lot.  It's one of the songs I'm really looking forward to hearing live.

So why can't they just announce the goddamn European dates already.
Everything was beautiful, and nothing hurt.

Centripetal core of soul sojourn the field vibrates to absolution. I climb toward the sun to breathe the universal.

Have you seen the bridge?  I ain't seen the bridge!  Where's that confounded bridge?!

Even if Josh and John agreed to it, there's no way they'd get Brant Bjork and Nick Oliveri on the bill.  Even if they went for Scott Reeder instead of Oliveri, it's just not Kyuss without Bjork.  He was (in my opinion) the force behind their best songs, and things definitely went downhill when he left.

I like Slo Burn WAY better than Kyuss, even if they only released one album at a very horrible quality, the songs are so much more powerful and catchy, and Garcia's vocals are better.

This has nothing to do with Nude With Boots, though, so I'll shut up.

(NWB is great, go buy it)

Mad Arab

Does anybody else think that some of the vocals on Suicide In Progress sounds like Bugs Bunny? Especially this part: "There's a little animal...".

All I want to know is when Nude With Boots comes out on LP.

Right before Senile Animal comes out on Lp.

Counting up all their albums (EPs LPs and collaborations) since their formation around 1983, the Melvins have unleashed 25 albums on the world. Nude With Boots marks number 26. That

I like the Reeder/Hernandez lineup better. Their last two albums and the final sessions on that "best of" I think is their best work.

On NWB, is Savage Hippy actually the exact same song as Real Fucking Nasty, or is it a different take, done later with Jared/Coady on it?

anaconda

It's the exact same take from the Haze sessions. No jared or coady.

Schnabster

Goodness, Nude With Boots is practically raping Schnabster for the moment, so insanely good that I have no words. Two songs, if possible, sticks out for me, The Smiling Cobra and The Savage Hippie almost made me loose control over the stearing of the car, when I drove from Oslo to Gjoevik yesterday.I`m so happy that I didn`t get a "preview" of the album, it tastes so muh better to have it all fresh now and then.

They have done it again.

mckickflip

oh, you silly metal reviews. dies iraea is anything but a misstep. i wish they'd have more tracks like that, actually...

(PAUL)

Yeah, I really like that track and Flush. Hell, I like the whole shebang.
Hail, not fail.
PS:  fuck him.

QuoteThe CD will sound exactly the same as the leaked rip, unless it was an unmastered or pre-master or something.  The conversion to MP3 won't cause a big enough difference to be noticed, unless the person who did the rip is inexperienced.

...or deliberately trying to make poor sounding mp3s. Like say for example if it was someone in or close to the band/their management who wanted to build the hype for the record but minimize the impact it will eventually have on sales. So they rip low quality mp3s and leak them so the fanatics get to hear the album and start raving but have a motivation to go get the CD when it's finally available. That seems to be a pretty standard practice anymore.

QuoteI ripped all of my Melvins CDs to my harddrive, and they sound the exact same when played through the same sound system, using the same computer software.

...but how do they sound in comparison if you burn a CD from the mp3s and play them on the same higher end sound system? You haven't eliminated the limitations of the sound system/software from the equation.
