Metalhead Cow

I'd say The Savage Hippy, Suicide In Progress, and Dog Island are classic Melvins... whatever that means.  :-k

I know it's a cover but what about Dies Iraea? That one is fantastic!

I don't think it's the best BB one but you can't deny the album has lots of good songs...

But tell me you don't like this song DC!!!

Melvins - The Savage Hippie

This song is buzz, dale, and Haze. No bb.

I know who plays on the song, and I know it was a single first for the HOF tour. I was just commenting on the album and giving an example of one of the many awesome songs on it.

So once again...tell me you don't like that song cus it's part of Nude With Boots Mr. Hater (Is it the boots part that offends you? Because the boots are covering up the feet? :P)

I keep most melvins albs on rotation. find myself going through the different "eras" or just whatever one I wanna hear then. NWB just rubs me the wrong way. Has it's moments, just kinda eh.

Not to say that I thing Mr. Crover and company aren't massively talented, ageless, and handsome, in case they read this.

Hot Pants

awesome video of the guitar lesson above. so cool. Buzz is a genius. those riffs!

the one thing that sold me on this album before i got a hold of it was the Amoeba show. the cuts from this album played at that show were fucking KILLER. that whole show is amazing of course.
the place where i sleep is cold and abandoned
you can't even fathom a hole being dug so deep

i bought a copy of this at the Isis show a couple of years ago at a merch table discount due to the known warping issue.

sure enough, i got home and opened it, and the tone arm got bounced around like the SS Minnow.

i went down to the basement, found a big pile of leftover floor tiles from a bathroom renovation, and stacked them on top of the LP.

fast forward ~2 years...today i uncover the LP, take it out and while there's still some slight wavering, it plays just fine. nice. 8)

Woah! Good job man! Ha ha. I bought this on C.D when it was released, Melvins on vinyl is hard to come by in Ireland!
I'm going to pray for you all now.

I meant to post this on the album's anniversary (8 July) but due to other plans she's up early.

A tenth anniversary tribute review here!

A fine Melvins album indeed. Funny how i disliked it initially a little at the time.

Oscar

Arguably the last great Melvins album to date

So true. I think Bride and Freak Puke could maybe be in the mix, but for a long time, i myself have thought the same.

Right there with you but if you really think about it, Nude had something unique to it that also tied it in perfectly with all of the 90s and 00s output. Perfectly bookending that era, the beginning being Stoner Witch I would say.
