people used to think godheadsilo was interesting, including myself. but they were really really simple and they didn't really try that hard in the vocal or composition departments. compared to big business they sound like a couple of 3rd graders. i am not surprised this project was never finished.

In that way, it's a goddamn miracle Buzz, Dale and Coady joined Flipper on stage last week. I mean, compared to godheadSilo, Flipper are a bunch of 4th graders.

BB and ghS are two completely different animals.

Well yes they are different animals. But they are both bass and drum duos that play a similar kind of music. godheasdSilo were sort of a spectacle, everybody amazed at how big the drum kit was and how many bass cabs there were and how loud they were, but when it comes down to it, the music really wasn't that accomplished. And they didn't even try when it came to the vocals. You could say they phoned it in, since it always sounded like they were recorded on an answering machine. Big Business is like Coke, the REAL THING.

ghS actually did a lot of complex rythmic stuff, but recorded the stuff live (except the last one) so thats why some of it sounds a bit "sloppy joe".

if you want to put them in the same box because of the drum and bass thing , you have to throw Lightning Bolt in there too...and I cant really hear a connection between LB and BB

yeah not too big on om, havent heard too much ruins but.. really? I thought everyone would be all over me about DFA 1979. A lot of my friends think it sounds too dancy but Ill be damned if I dont want to get up and shake my ass every time I hear any of their songs.

Is this ever going to be released? I know it exsists I have heard tracks at Uptone Studios in Tacoma.  What I heard was amazing and am wondering why nothing has been done with this?
