Melvins Christmas Raffle!

Post one of your  favorite melvins memories, and I'll enter you into a free raffle for a signed melvins poster.  Drawing will be held sometime in a week or so from now.  Each person that posts in this thread will be assigned a number, and then I'll randomly pick one number; that person will win.

I loved the melvins three set tour, a great combination of everything melvins.  It was like watching a melvins-play.  Probably from 96?  Good times.

The deadline for entries is December 20, 8p.m. central time.  (Central standard - 6)  I'll post results asap.

My favorite?  I guess it would be seeing five of the seven 25th anniversary shows.  Travelling to NY and Boston, then two shows in Seattle and one in Portland.  Getting to hang out backstage with Buzz, Dale, Trevor, Mike, and Gibby in NY is probably my favorite memory of the tour.  Shooting the shit and eating their pizza and having some beers made for a great night.

Mine would be running into buzz and dale at a mini mart in olympia called the frog pond before a show during the 2x4 tour and shootin the shit with em for about 15- 20 minutes, then seeing buzz at the show and asking him if i could come backstage and him granting my wish.  I stood right in front of buzz for the whole show and would have to say that they played alot of cool songs.  I have pictures somewhere, unfortunatly this was before cell phones, even digital cameras were everywhere.

I've only seen the melvins once, unfortunately.

I was front rowcenter the entire time. Standing right in the middle of that gigantic drum kit. When I looked up, I could see Dale through the clear skin of one of his drums. That image is forever ingraved in my mind.

It felt like I got my ass kicked for an hour and some. I loved every second of it.

Tommyhc and his buddy were nice enough to let me hitch a ride with them down to Victoriaville. funny story: His buddy is vegetarian. When we got to montreal we were stuck in traffic for a good 20-30 minutes beside a truck filled with caged chickens. It took everything in me not to laugh at the time but inside I was laughing histerically.

BTW, I have no problem with vegetarians, people's dietary habits are none of my business, I just thought the situation was hilarious.

My favorite Melvins memory is the show July 08 in Denver - hung out all night with the Grim Reaper, his bro, and Bad Ron.  They watched out for me while I snuggled against the guard rail, and for the first time ever, I was able to experience a live show from the very front and center stage.  I could feel the hurrican-like winds gusting at me from Dale & Coady's drums, and Buzz was so close I could see his sweat falling like drops of rain on warm summer's night.

i came across buzz and DSS at disneyland a few years back right across the pond from tom sawyers island. they were on a "business meeting" . we shot the shit with them for 5 minutes or so, snapped a picture, and let them be on their merry way to splash mountain. disneyland truly can be the happiest place on earth.

my favourite memory probably is my first melvins show!was the tour with DSS on second guitar and Kevin on bass.Buzz introduced Hung Bunny Roman Bird Dog saying:"now sit down cuz we're going to play a song which is 20 minutes long".they did also a killer version of Eye Flys and Dale at the end of the show dismantled his kit in a few minutes

Melvins/Big Business at the Nightlight, right here in Bellingham.  Or maybe seeing pre-Melvins Big Business play the 3B, talking to Coady and finding out that two of my favorite bands had joined forces.  Or maybe Melvins At Midnight at the Capital Theater in Olympia, with Loraxe.

I think my favorite Melvins moment was the Lysol/Eggnog show in 2007. Watching them open with Charmicarmicat was amazing and may be the most intense performance I've ever seen.

The 20th anniversary show in Olympia, WA. Hanging with them back stage and having a piece of their 20th anniversary cake.  Getting drunk on their beer, meeting  Tim Moss and calling him "Frank" for some reason even after he kept saying his name was Tim. Meeting Kevin Ass for the one and only time.
