this reminds me too much of hydrahead's slogan 'thinking man's metal' which i could never stand in the first place. just think of aaron turner's pretentious face, with designer glasses if you will.... it just feels wrong, doesnt it.

intellect and rock music just shouldn't be mixed. AT ALL.. it spoils the fun. if anything, it's that gutsy feeling that makes the melvins so awesome, and THAT's a no-brainer

no, but trying to intellectualize music or articulate it in a intellectual way is just a waste of time.

At the end of the day, music is supposed to represent a feeling. Associating that feeling with an idea dilutes the feeling.
