Just caught the Spokane set last night! One of the best shows that I have seen them play! After helms alee, they hit the stage hard, opening with oven and lovely butterfly. Buzz was really energized and nailed song after song. They mostly stayed in their "classic" era, playing songs from Lysol, Bullhead, Houdini. With Teeth sounded great. Two new songs in the middle of the set, lumbering and heavy. This was the first time I had seen Steven live, and while a total goofball on stage, he's a very capable bass player, handling each Melvins song with ease.

These guys are seriously the best band ever!

I was at the Spokane show as well.  Can't say much more.  In the 20+ times I've seen them it's definitely up toward the top.  What was fun was some friends bringing their kids (mid-teens) for their first real show.  They all had fun but one in particular was a 14 year old girl who has been learning to play bass and she couldn't get enough of Stephen.  Saw some friends for the first time in years who used to be in bands that my old band played with back in the mid/late 90's.  Picked up a copy of the Melvins 1983 Sugar Daddy split only to realize when I got home yesterday that I already have it.  Really trying to figure out at least one of the shows on the 5 legged tour I can fly out to.

having seen them on the Ministry tour in April and in Tucson last month, Buzz is looking very happy playing live again. never seen him smile this much and that's going back to the first time i saw them in 94 with L7.

i was standing next to three young women (late teens to very early 20's) at the show in PA. they were super chatty and giddy for the ensuing night, but helms alee absolutely floored them! at the end one of them turned to the others and her eyes were wide as hell and she just said Wow! i didn't see them after i went to the merch stand. really cool seeing kids get introduced to amazeness. kudos to melvins for doing all ages shows!

Portland was really really good. I was right in front of Steven, next to the Buzzo puppet. Steven's playing was incredible. I really enjoy the goofy humor he brings and it seems to have rubbed off on Buzzo and Dale. The energy of this show...man I haven't felt that since the Big Belvins days. The Melvins are always a machine but this show felt extra. Bought a new T-shirt and the Crystal Fairy letter press CD. I waved Dale down after the harsh mellow set and gave him a letter of introduction about the book I want to write. It may have gone straight into the garbage can, but that's OK. It was one of the more vulnerable things I have done and he was very gracious. Sorry this wording is a little awkward, I don't have access to my laptop at the moment and I'm doing voice to text because I don't feel like typing on my stupid phone.
Also melvins is gay cuz some of their songs are just noise, i tell you this so you all don't buy albums and find out only one two songs is good on them.

Glad to hear the band is doing good, and people are enjoying the shows.

Yup...couldn't miss out after all this time!   Glad to see Melvins haven't skipped a beat and brought a ton of energy to the stage.  Also I gotta say Helms Alee killed it and was easily my favorite performance I've seen from them.   Unfortunately missed the Hatsh Mellow set, but still a hell of a night of great music that definitely hit the spot!

Oh, who brought that amazing Buzzo puppet?!    :buzz:

Buzz said about playing some stuff from the new album on the upcoming tour. I wonder if it will still be the same 2 songs from the previous tour or things will get changed around a bit. I'm looking forward to seeing the setlist.

Sweet. "Never Say You're Sorry" absolutely killed it in Bethlehem.

While I hate sounding like a newb, Bethelem was my first Melvins show. Now I simply have to see them again. And again. And again. Crossing my fingers for Cleveland.
