Guest,

I don't know about Born Again but are you saying you didn't even like
Neon Nights, The Mob Rules, or Turn up the Night from the Mob Rules
album? There's a few good numbers on there c'mon, sure it's not the
classic lineup with Ozzy but it's not as bad as some of the shit from
that era like Manowar, or Twisted Sister for instance.

Yes I think Mob Rules really blows....and Neon Knights is from Heaven & Hell...which was the only Sabbath/Dio album I liked.....Heaven & Hell imo was a better album than the previous two with Ozzy...Never Say Die & Technical Ectasy.....Basically Sabbath blew it's wad with Vol 4 & Sabotage...it just went downhill fast after that....

It's Neon Knights..not Neon Nights....big difference. And it is not on Mob Rules.

Motorhead is ok....I'm more into old school punk....Dead Boys, Ramones, Stooges, VU, MC5, Johnny Thunders, Richard Hell, The Real Kids, Television....shit like that.....77 Punk Rules!!  OMFUG!!

My error, i had a brain fart there, i was looking at Turn up the Night
on the jacket but I typed Neon Nights. Please don't behead me oh
grand wizard. ;)

btw, Motorheads first album came out in 77, and they were one of
the few so called  'metal' bands at the time that actually had mohawks
and metalheads in the same mosh pit without murders taking place. heh.

Another question if i may; where might one find Jello and the Melvins
on your FTP? Thanks in advance. Peace.

I wasn't trying to be a douche or anything, but I just remember this stuff....I liked metal in the 70's...When I first heard Judas Priest's Hell Bent for Leather I thought it was the heaviest thing I'd ever heard, but a couple of years ago I picked up a vinyl copy on eBay for like a dollar...now mind you I was like 16 then and I'm 40 now, people change, but that album to me sounds so dated and quaint... By the time Quiet Riot & Twisted Sister became the "new" metal bands I got turned on to Black Flag & well it changed my life...that was the early 80's....To me metal sucks ass.  I know some of you consider the Melvins a metal band, but I've interviewed Buzz 3 times now...We've talked on and off mic....I once drove him to my radio station and asked him what he considers the Melvins, and he said they are first and foremost a punk band, which I have always believed.  Ozzy is an adle minded old fool now who has nothing to contribute but his own displayed stupidity for our entertainment.  Look at Iggy Pop...guys like 58 or something and he still kicks anyones ass onstage...I'm rambling...anyway I don't know about Jello & The Melvins on the FTP....ask Brian..He'll probably know what you're talking about.

no sweat, we're cool dude. black flag is my favorite band EVER.
I have all my Dad's old BF records and 'Slip it In' has to be my
personal fave folowed by' Damaged'. It's nice to have someone as knowledgable as yourself around here.

baggins

im a houdini fan myself not all songs are brilliant agreed but there is enough for me to make it a worthwhile album.

i also quite like melvins version of goin' blind...very repetetive but it works

AnemicRoyalty

I think Houdini is one of their best.  Out of my favorite Melvins songs, i think Houdini would be represented the most.  Night Goat, Hag Me, Honey Bucket, Joan of Arc, Teet, are some of the Melvins best songs, IMO.

*gasp* *cough cough hack hack*

Fuck that makes me feel old.

Houdini is one of my favorite MELVINS albums. To each his own.

turnacuss

Houdini is the weakest of the normal melvins albums. Night goat is good, but on the single its better. Honey Bucket got me into the melvins, and that song kicks ass. Hag me is heavy, but it lacks something. I don't know what else is on there.

I can't express how awesome honey bucket is.
