You know, I listened to it again and I still don't think that's Buzz, even now that I know the words.  I don't know, 
especially the laughter. we all know Buzzo's laugh..

It's from a Tool fansite(toolshed.down.net). I don't really know where they got it from, but I do think it's right. Voices recorded over the phone sound a little distorted, it's not really a high quality microphone after all, even Maynard's voice souds a little different but I know it's him.

Yeah the sound is kinda muffled and there's all that noise so it's hard to tell.   I just don't hear it somehow.

Hmmm, now I've gone back and listened really loudlly and I'm not sure either.
It's a more calm voice then Buzz usually speaks with, almost too conversational
and maybe not deep enough to be him, although that laugh sure seems like his.

Time to post a topic on toolband and get the real answer.

I don't know why stuff like this bugs me, but it does. It isn't Buzz. There 's no chance. The accent isn't the same, the tone isn't the same. It isn't Buzz. I'd bet a hundred bucks on it in a second.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly.  I just couldn't really explain why it doesn't sound like Buzz to me. 
His voice is sort of... recognizable if you know what I mean.  Yep, I guess that's what I was trying to say.

that's from wikipedia so you can take it with a grain of bullshit but I still don't think either one of those voices sounds like buzz.
