I won't change Buzz's words, sorry.

GrimReaper

Melvins want their name associated with a good, wholesome product.

Buzz talked about this before;

he said (paraphrasing) I don't want some 13 year old kid to not get into Melvins
because of some little sticker on our album about using a profanity.

I can't imagine any artist feeling any differently.  The PMRC is a joke.

On a related note, I've noticed that cd stores don't really seem to get the whole cover artwork on the back thing. They always put Melvins albums on the shelves showing the front (back) of the cd, where the tracklist and stuff is. And yeah, I'm the kind of person who corrects that mistake everytime again. Oh well..
Ha ha!  That's funny.  I do the same thing at my local record shop when I peak in the Melvins section.
Me too. I did it today!

on a side note:

saw Buzz yesterday in LA and I told him I though NWB was totally awesome,

he immediately slapped me and my wife with his driving gloves,

and then he spit on our baby while screaming "leaks are for assholes"
But leeks are great.  They make a fabulous gratin with celery root.

Did anybody record that? Do you have a youtube/mp3 link?

man, y'all were snoozing on this issue, check my earlier post in this thread about "dies iraea" which is a thirteenth century hymn, don't know why the melvins have spelt it that way, it's traditionally "dies irae", namely, day of wrath/judgement.  probably most famously (and perhaps first ?) appropriated by hector berlioz in his 1830 "symphonie fantastique", also used by other folks, notably, as i mentioned in my previous post, wendy carlos on the shining soundtrack. i believe also penderecki (who figures heavily on the shining soundtrack) has done something with it at some point but i am not certain.

minor point, but yeah.  also i agree with whoever it was said that there is a morricone flavor going on. ultimately i think it is the weakest track, a confusing choice, at this point pretty well-trodden territory... for instance brian daniloski's (who was in meatjack, y'all might remember them from that 'we reach' tribute record that came out a while back, they did something off of "stoner witch") solo thing, darsombra, did much more interesting take on it, probably four or five years ago... etc.

Dear Cliff Claven, I miss you on Cheers.

Androol

Maybe you hated it for the simple fact you knew you would?

When did Buzzo take time to write anything?
