i'm loving the album pretty much as a whole....love love the kicking machine....and Billyfish and Suicide in Progress are excellent (so glad to get the proper studio treatment of these)

all around i like this as much as ASA and maybe even a little bit more.  i know the boys tend to go through phases with their sound as they do with what they listen to, i.e. hardcore, country, noise. this one and ASA for that matter, are showing more of a bluesy feel to them. kinda like the 70's comment, like zepplin and sabbath, but those bands were heavily steeped in blues. i wonder what has been inspiring buzz lately.

billy fish, kicking machine, smiling cobra and dog island will be new staples to the set i hope.

I just don't see why someone wants a shit quality recording which is what 100% of leaks are.

Most leaks are CD rips, and sound exactly the same as the finished product unless they are leaked before the mastering or recording process is finished.

It's not like somebody got a directional microphone and pointed it into the studio while they were playing the songs. 

I really don't want to get into it,  maybe that was the case years ago, but I doubt there will be any difference in distinguishable audio quality between the CD you'd buy at a store and the MP3s floating around the internet at this point in time.

And if there is, it's because the person who ripped it used a crappy encoder and a low bitrate.  If they had ripped it to a lossless FLAC file or a higher-quality (V0) MP3 using LAME, there'd be no distinguishing the sound at all.

What I like about the new cover is, that it is photography without any additional art/drawing aside from the lettering. That has not been done since the trilogy. I'm somehow guessing that the picture was taken by Kevin Willis, but the liner notes will tell us in 3 months.

So what do you people think of the album cover? Looks like it's the final cover since it's officially been on that Ipecac promo site. At first I thought I didn't like it but only because of the fact that I'm not a big fan of dogs like this... but on the other hand I'm a big fan of innocent looking Melvins covers so it's actually pretty cool.

And while we're at it, I think it's a good thing that we're all gonna buy this album and even more extra merch. My problem with the whole leak thing is that I don't feel that I'm supposed to listen to it three months early. I don't even know how things like that happen in the first place. When I first heard about the album I was sure I wouldn't gonna listen to it early. It's really early in my opinion. Actually I don't know why I'm writing all this since it's just my worthless opinion and after all everyone can decide what they do. I for one had the feeling that many here don't have any problems with it and that's why I thought it over again. It's okay I guess. I haven't listened to it yet. Still I will feel bad if I do. It's not the same thing like returnig from the cd store with the actual disc in your hands...And another thing, I don't think listening to it early or not has anything to do with being a "real" fan or not, I don't think people can argue about things like that. It doesn't make any sense to me.

first: as soon as it will came out i will surely purchase it ,as i have done for every other melvins album.
second: i have listened to it once.
the problem about the real fan or not is not a problem of mine cuz i must not show to anybody my love for the melvins.also with  me  the real problem with the whole leak thing is that it's not the same thing like returnig from the cd store with the actual disc in your hands..but it's too hard and it happened yet with ASA and with POTRE...just like a illness for me.
surely i totally respect who don't want to download it now.
and still don't understand provocations or hypocrisy,anyone can decide what they do.
talking about the cover arts (if it's official),i really like it,pure melvins style ,cool and trash at the same time!

The album is growing on me fast after 3 listens. 
the drum arrangements kick ass. 
I'm feeling the maggot revisited at times, eg: dog island.
