I could accept all down fans at some point, but i'll never accept anselhomo as being anything less than a total asshole.  me and many others feel cheated by his influence on what was a good friend and a cool guy.

I agree with Glen, however I think Farty may be onto something as well.  I don't have a personal gripe with Phil, but he seems like a giant tool.  I can appreciate that Katrina was a humbling and life changing experience for him, and I'm glad that he made it through, but he still seems like a tool, and not the good Adam Jones kind of tool responsible for great gig posters and the virus on HAT (which for those who don't know is a synth, I'm guessing the bit at the end of The Fool, The Meddling Idiot).

It'll definitely be interesting to see how the show turns out.  My only real gripe is that Melvins' set will likely be a bit shorter than normal.  Especially after the recent show with '83, 2-piece, and Houdini sets.

Anyone know where Down usually plays in Seattle?  I just hope to god it's not the Showbox SODO.  That concrete box can ruin any show.

I see the mood has changed a whole lot here. People have realised they were actually being closeminded about Down's music (which the majority have admitted they've heard very little of) and their fans, who are welcoming of Melvins playing.

Kinda sounds like what I've been saying all along...

DAMMIT!  That place is terrible.  Even packed with people, it sounds like balls.  You should hear how bad it is in there during soundchecks when it's empty.  The worst standing-wave wash of reverb ever.  Whoever came up with the brilliant idea to put a music venue in a concrete rectangle is an asshole.  Useless venue.

WORST VENUE I'VE PROBABLY BEEN TO IS HEADLINER'S IN TOLEDO, OH.  I SAW CLUTCH THERE, I THINK IN '08.  THE SETLIST DIDN'T HELP, IMO, BUT THE PLACE IS JUST AN OLD MACHINERY SHOP.  WE WERE IN THE MAIN ROOM (I GUESS THERE'S A SMALLER ROOM IN BACK THAT SOUNDS BETTER) AND THE ACOUSTICS WERE ABSOLUTELY AWFUL.

MY FRIEND IN TOLEDO ASKED ME TO COME DOWN WHEN THEY PLAYED THERE RECENTLY AND I REFUSED TO GO BECAUSE OF THE SOUND (WELL, THAT AND MY WIFE LAID THE LAW DOWN ON ME EVEN THINKING ABOUT GOING).  I GUESS THEY PLAYED IN THE SMALLER ROOM THERE AND HE SAID IT WAS PRETTY DECENT, BUT HOTTER THAN HELL.
